Now It’s Easier To Submit!

A change has been made to the submission guidelines for The Emperor’s Fading Light.  You may now make your submissions in a standard fiction format.  It will not be necessary for you to make your submissions in the audio script format.  A brave soul has come forward and offered to adapt stories into the audio format.  But there’s going to be a catch… you will have to share the by-line:

Story by YOU
Adapted for audio by HIM

Can you handle that?

All other submission guidelines apply:

Stories are to be set in the Warhammer 40,000 Universe only.  No crossovers.

Characters are to be original.  I am not want any named characters to appear that have appeared in game codexes, Black Library Novels, White Dwarf Magazine, etc.  Mentioning them in passing is fine, but they themselves must not appear.

Stories should come to a conclusion.  None of that "to be continued" business.  However, franchising the story down the line may be an option.

Submit scripts/stories as a Microsoft Word document to
emperorsfadinglight@gmail.com

Submit questions here... they will be answered here.

There is no deadline, but the sooner I have scripts, the sooner we can get this thing off the ground!

Call For Writers

We have been having some script problems with this project.  Do not panic... it will be going on as planned, but it will take a little longer to get the first episode out than originally anticipated.  That said...

I will now be looking at scripts for one-off dramas.  Here are some guidelines:

Submissions must be made in script form only.  I am not interested in adapting stories for the drama format.  You can do that yourself.

Scripts should be for a 5 to 30 minute production and come to a conclusion.  None of that "to be continued" business.  However, franchising the story down the line may be an option.

Audition Results for the Part of the Announcer

I would first like to thank everyone who auditioned for the part of the Announcer.  The decision was so difficult I have decided to go with 2 Announcers, one male and one female, alternating lines.  The voices of the Announcer will be played by Allen Kitchen and Gwendolyn Jensen-Woodard.

Again, thanks to the others that submitted.  More parts will be posted soon, and I hope you will all consider auditioning for some of those rolls.

First Audition:

For directions on submitting your auditions... http://emperorsfadinglight.blogspot.com/2010/12/audition-guidelines.html

The first part up for grabs is the part of the Announcer.  This may be either male or female.  It is a recurring, but limited roll that will be used primarily in the intro and outro parts of the show (including the reading of the casts’ names) as well as the trailers.

Line 1:  Previously on “The Emperor’s Fading Light”

Line 2:  In the grim, dark future of the 41st millennium, there is only war.

Deadline for submissions is December 21, 2010.

Audition Guidelines

Submissions must me in .mp3 format.  Submit one file per part being auditioned for.  If you are auditioning for multiple parts at same time, please submit separate files.  Title the file you are submitting “[name of character] [space] [your initials].mp3”.  So of you are auditioning for the part of Hamlet and your name is John Doe, the file would be called hamlet jd.mp3.

While recording, begin the file by clearly stating your name and the part you are auditioning for.  Then say the line number you are reading and read the line.  When finished, move on to the next line if there is a next line.  If you wish to do multiple takes of a single line for the sake of trying alternative voices or accents please do so, but limit the file to 4 such takes.  If you want to try more than 4, please submit additional files.  If you are submitting more than one file for a part, please number the files (hamlet jd1.mp3 as an example).  Also please consider that the quality of the recording you submit, in addition to the voice used, is going to be taken into consideration when casting these roles.  Any electronic alteration, modulation, etc. done to voices for making them sound more alien or robotic will be done in post production, so there is no need for you to worry about that.  Just deliver the lines as best you are able.

Email submissions to emperorsfadinglight@gmail.com with the name of the character being auditioned for in the message text.  Any additional information you wish to provide in the body of the email will be welcome.
